About
Transition Northfield is an broad organization with many goals, and we thought it best to let some members explain what it means to them:
For me, Transition Northfield-an apolitical organization-provides a unique organizing vision to guide Northfield’s transition into a viable, sustainable, resilient community. Happily all Northfielders are welcome and encouraged to join in as we work for what’s good for Northfield.
Judy Phillips
We are in this together because, for a variety of reasons, we all call this particular corner of the world home.
Emily Koester
For me, Transition Towns is about coming together during these uncertain times — across differences — to help us all move toward a more sustainable and joyful future.
Transition Towns Northfield continues to be a wonderful vehicle to facilitate “community”. It is an open, welcoming group that has as its primary goal to be of help to anyone or group who wishes for the betterment of our community.
Walter Jaworski
Transition provides an incentive to use your imagination to transform the landscape of possibilities. Within Transition one can use craft as a tool to gently protest while being careful, considerate and compassionate in your activism.
Judi Campbell
Transition Northfield is all about creating community and being a neighbor, about sharing what we have and learning from each other. I love giving my time to the Tool Library and events like the Fix-it Fair, where I can meet neighbors and help out with repairs–to me, the bonus is helping to conserve resources.

When I began thinking about how to respond to the preceding request, a line from “Toy Story” kept going through my head — “You’ve got a friend in me.” Transition Northfield is a way to show Northfielders that they have friends in town.
